Everything you need to read like a pro

Speed & duration

Set a reading speed in words per minute and instantly see how long your script will last — or set a target duration and let the prompter pick the speed for you.

Voice-follow scrolling

Turn on voice follow and the text moves as you speak, using speech recognition built into your browser. Pause to breathe; the prompter waits for you.

Play, pause & stop

Start, pause and resume at any moment with a click, the space bar or a Bluetooth clicker. The timer pauses with you so you always know where you stand.

Text size & layout

Adjust text size, line spacing and margins for your distance to the screen. Durations are recalculated automatically so your timing stays accurate.

Mirror & flip

Flip the text horizontally or vertically to use the app with a real teleprompter glass or beam-splitter rig.

Audio & video recording

Record your voice or your camera while you read. Everything happens locally in your browser — your recordings never reach our servers.

Full screen & screen awake

Go full screen with one key and keep the screen from dimming or locking while you read.

Works everywhere, even offline

Computer, tablet or phone, any modern browser. Install it as an app and keep prompting without a connection. Your script is saved on your device.

About LumiPrompter

LumiPrompter is a free online teleprompter that runs entirely in the web browser. It scrolls a script at a chosen speed in words per minute, or follows the speaker’s voice using the browser’s built-in speech recognition, so the reader can keep eye contact with the camera or audience.

It works on Windows, macOS, Linux, ChromeOS, Android and iOS without installation or an account, can be installed as an app, and keeps working offline. Scripts, settings and audio or video recordings are stored only on the user’s device and are never uploaded.

LumiPrompter is available in English, French, Spanish, Italian, Russian, Hindi, Chinese and Japanese.

Frequently asked questions

Is this online teleprompter really free?

Yes. The teleprompter is completely free, with no account, no watermark and no limit on script length.

Are my texts and recordings private?

Yes. Your script is stored only in your browser, and audio and video recordings are processed on your device. Nothing is uploaded to our servers.

How does voice-follow scrolling work?

Your browser’s speech recognition listens to you and matches what you say to the script, so the text advances at your natural pace. It works best in Chrome, Edge and Safari.

Can I use it with a physical teleprompter?

Yes. Use the Mirror option to flip the text horizontally for beam-splitter glass, and Flip if your rig needs the text upside down.

How is the reading duration calculated?

We count the words in your script (or characters, for Chinese and Japanese) and divide by the chosen speed. Average speech is about 130–150 words per minute.

Does it work on a phone or tablet?

Yes. The app is fully responsive and can be installed on your home screen. Larger screens give the most comfortable reading experience.

Can I control it with a remote?

Yes. Most Bluetooth presentation clickers and foot pedals send arrow or page keys, which the teleprompter understands.
